I'm just curious whether you've used the huge sell-off from September through March 9th to buy ANYTHING new.
From your postings here I don't think I've seen even one new name mentioned in all those months.
If you haven't added anything new, why not? If you have. why not share your ideas?
Unless you want to consider ASUR new (I did own it before, unfortunately, as I mentioned previously), I didn't add any new stocks during that time period. A couple of stocks looked tempting, but I've been putting money aside to invest in a couple of business ideas that I think have greater potential ROI. If all goes well, I'll elaborate here when they're up and running, probably sometime this summer.
Re PNWIF's quarter, it would have been nice to see them be consistently profitable, but they do say this is their seasonally weakest quarter. Y-O-Y comps look good though. Still very little of their sales are coming from outside of North America and the UK though, despite the Kodak deal in Asia. Re the conference call, I don't recall anyone asking about this.
Re:PNWIF When speaking to IR a while back trhe advised me that in Australia it will take some time for the idea of uploading photo's and picking them up at a store to gain traction. This at or about the time they launched in Australia. I assume there is a learning curve. This is probably true of most countries.
That seems to be a similarity between PNWIF and another Edelheit pick, DSNY: top-level deals may open the door to new distribution channels, but more work at lower levels is required to get the technology widely adopted. This is something I've discussed with DSNY's CFO a few times, including late last week. He assured me that they were working on this.
Just a man with a man's courage.
